The Ceramic Artist's challenge to post 3 pieces over 5 consecutive days is now coming to a close for me. With my final posting for Day 5 of 5. As much as I love experimenting on the wheel, there is something special about the spontaneity of hand-building. Seeing the clay take on a shape and start transforming into something wonderful. For my final day I wanted to share some of my free-form centerpieces. They end up around 20 - 23" in diameter while in the greenware stage, and then shrink as they dry and get fired to around 15 - 19" finished. Some may be similar, though no two are ever the same. Below are some of my favourites.
